Falling down. Rising anyway.

Original rock with prog and alternative leanings — every track a resurrection, the sound of a phoenix still climbing.

The Band

FAILURE TO PHOENIX is an original rock project with prog and alternative leanings — music about falling down and rising anyway. The catalog runs through “Dormant,” “Out of the Mist,” “Closure,” “Better Than This,” and “Crashing Waves,” with “Out of the Mist” drawing airplay interest from Progzilla Radio. Every track is a resurrection — the sound of a phoenix still climbing.

Dwane Meeker and Jesse Peterson contribute as collaborators on Failure to Phoenix material.

Jacob Tyloch singing on stage

Jacob Tyloch

He doesn’t belong to one band — he belongs to the music.

Jacob Tyloch doesn’t belong to one band — he belongs to the music. With his boots in Money 2 Burn and Failure to Phoenix, he’s a player who refuses to sit still, working toward fuller involvement with the Phoenix and bringing the material to the stage live. Jacob carries the hunger of someone building something bigger than any single band.

Kimberly Fournier singing live on stage

Kimberly Fournier

Violinist and vocalist — the aching heart of the band’s sound.

Kimberly Fournier — violinist and vocalist — is the aching heart of the band’s sound. Her classically trained violin weeps and soars between the verses, and her voice carries the quiet weight of songs lived, not just learned — tender one moment, fierce the next. Billed as “Kimberly Rae,” the Northern Michigan University graduate (Class of 1996) pours unguarded feeling into every note, turning each performance into something you feel in your chest.

Alex Hamilton

He doesn’t just play music — he lives inside it.

Alex Hamilton doesn’t just play music — he lives inside it. A Upper Midwest multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and sound and recording engineer, he moves between guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and the console with the same restless curiosity, chasing the feeling inside every song across hard rock, prog, country, acoustic, and electronic music. His work — with Failure to Phoenix, Batt Rastard, Remedy, Abalone, Darn Sad Crawdad, Temporal Wake, his solo records, and his Monkey Business Photography — centers on emotion, psychology, identity, and lived human experience. Endorsed by Soultone Cymbals, Scorpion Percussion, and Ghost Fire Audio USA.

Rick Counard

The steady heartbeat of Failure to Phoenix.

Rick Counard is the steady heartbeat of Failure to Phoenix — a full-time dad who plays like a man with nothing to prove and everything to give. No pretense, no posturing: just the grounded soul of someone who knows exactly who he is. In a project built on falling down and rising anyway, Rick is living proof that the rising is the point.
